Problem

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is among the top 10 global public health threats, according to WHO. In 2021, AMR was responsible for one death every 45 seconds, and if unchecked, it could lead to one death every 3 seconds by 2050. Infections are a major concern in ICUs, affecting 60–80% of patients with serious conditions like catheter-related bloodstream infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and catheter-associated urinary tract infections.

  • Delayed infection diagnosis due to slow culture methods increases morbidity and mortality.
